A voice crying in the wilderness… Who will hear the voice of the Lord?
Mark 1:1-3
"The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, The Son of God. As it is written in the prophets: Behold, I send My messenger before your face, Who will prepare your way before you. The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.'"
(NKJV)
For as long as most Christians can remember it has been told that a time is coming upon the earth when the Christians will walk in all the fullness of Gods Blessings and His Grace and Mercy will rain down upon them. It has been said for many years that at this time the Christian will walk in the fullness of God's power and His might shall be in their hands. It has been taught by many that when this time comes the Christian will walk in the dominion and authority that is his through Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.
Just as was foretold in Isaiah and Mark speaks of in his gospel, the Lord will send His messenger before us, one who will be that voice crying in the wilderness, bringing to the children of God His purpose for them in this hour coming upon us. That voice crying in the wilderness will be saying, "Repent for the time of God's visitation has come". The Church has fallen asleep. We have become lethargic. We have settled for what we have and where we are in our faith walk. If there is any among us who doubt the validity of that statement then I ask you to look at the state of this great nation and of the world. America was created and ordained by God to be a beacon of hope and light to the world. We were created specifically to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom to the nations. And while in a sense we have done this we have also somewhat failed in our duties to our God. God commissioned the Apostles in Matthew 10:8 to go forth and preach to the house of Israel. They were sent to preach the gospel of the kingdom and to raise the dead, cast out demons, heal the sick and to cleanse the leper. Freely they had received, freely they were to give. This commission was later extended to the gentile nations and was passed on to all believers. We are all called to this great commission of God. It is our duty, our right and our privilege to do so. The word of God clearly states in Hebrew 2:3-4 that where the gospel is preached God will bear witness of His word through signs, wonders and miracles.
Hebrews 2:3-4
"How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost according to His own will." (KJV)
The Church has known limited success in walking in the fullness of all of God's power and authority. Where the gospel has been preached we have not always seen confirmation and a bearing of witness through signs, wonders and miracles. And we have settled for what little we have seen. I have heard it said that if we do not see signs, wonders and miracles following the preaching of Gods word we are not having Church we are only having a meeting. I realize that may offend many but if we are honest in examining the word of God and our Christian walk we would surely have to agree with that statement.
The Apostle Peter so walked in the anointing of God that even when his shadow fell upon someone they were instantly healed (Acts 5:15). The word of God says the Holy Spirit is to literally permeate us to the point that healing flows, blessings flow and we walk in the fullness of all Gods blessings, power and authority and signs wonders and miracles will follow us as we go forth among the peoples of the earth.
Acts 4:31 If we examine the scriptures we will see that the Church of God has fallen so far from where we once were when the Apostles walked this earth. Instead of progressing in the faith and reaching the point of walking in all Gods fullness, blessings, power and dominion we have regressed. Each generation should have grown more in the power and authority of God through Christ Jesus, yet we have not. And we find ourselves in a lethargic state of settling for where we are, spiritually speaking. We have not come anywhere near fulfilling the great commission of God. While the Church has succeeded in spreading the Gospel to the nations we have yet to see people coming from near and far to bring people to lay in the street so that our shadows might fall upon them and they will know complete healing of not only spirit and soul but of body as well. If we listen closely we will hear the few voices that are even now crying in the wilderness. Voices calling for the Church to repent of her lethargic state and turn their faces and voices towards God seeking His fullnesss and power. God is beginning to call out to His children. There are those who have become dissatisfied in the present state of the body of Christ including themselves and have begun to cry out to God in search of all His blessing, all His authority and power that is ours as His Children. And those who are willing to hear the voice of the Lord are those who are now the ones crying in the wilderness saying, "Repent oh Church of God and turn from your lethargy, reach out to the Father for all His fullness and blessing. Begin to walk in all the dominion and authority that is ours in and through Christ Jesus". It is time to listen to the voices our Father has sent to show us the way out of our settled state of being into the fullnes of His dominion and authority in this earth. A voice is even now crying in the wilderness... Who will hear the voice of the Lord???
