I Stand in Awe
DAILY MANNA
Matthew 6:25-26 I stand in awe of a God who loves me enough that He cares about even the smallest of my desires. So many times we are like the generation of Christ's time who sought after a sign from God. And not just any sign, but they wanted something big, something supernatural that defied the laws of nature. Is that what it takes for us to stand in awe of God? Is that what it takes for us to be rendered speechless before His splendor and majesty? While I believe with all my being that signs wonders and miracles should accompany the preaching of the Word of God it is not only in that venue in which God moves in our lives, He often moves in the privacy of our homes when no one but us is there to see.
God moved in my life today and I am speechless. Mountains were not displaced, the ocean didn't part yet God moved and even the smallest of His signs, His miracles are earth shattering. The very breath that He breathed upon the situation in my family's life caused instant change. Where hope, from the natural point seemed like foolishness, it shone bright before us as God spoke and it was accomplished. I stand in awe of a God who moves subtly behind the scene not needing to show it was He who brought about the result we received. Yes we will give Him glory and we will speak of what He has done for us but He did not need to have it written upon the wall, He did not need to make the building tremble when He showed up. Yes there will be times when we will see the supernatural happen when God shows up on the scene. But that does not mean His presence or His Word are less effectual just because His will was accomplished in a subtle way. Our God is not vain nor is He glory seeking. Yet He deserves all our praise and He deserves to be glorified. And we should stand in awe whenever He moves, however He chooses to do it. |
